New Video from Arctic Monkeys

Well, I know of no better way to start the weekend off right than with this awesome new video for Arctic Monkeys’ song “The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala”. Click the pic to view the video.

This piece was directed  by Focus Creeps and edited by Foundation’s Gladys Bernadac.  It was lensed  over the course of a few months at various iconic locations in Los Angeles, their Hollywood Paladium show, our LA stage and even includes footage shot in Sheffield, at the band’s homecoming concert. If you are an Arctic Monkeys fan, this video is a treat not to be missed!

America, the Beautiful

The new video for DOM’s “Living in America” debuts today. Click below to see it live on Vevo.

Another great piece by Focus Creeps. Edited by the lovely Gladys Bernadac with awesome blurs by Jenn Moody. Nice work here from everyone. This video makes me… proud to be an American.

Just For Laughs

Where were you yesterday at 1:30 pm (Central)? Well… if you were in Chicago’s Millennium Park, you may have seen an outrageously awesome social experiment organized by Tyler Walker, of Improv Everywhere  in conjunction with TBS. As a publicity stunt to kick off the Just for Laughs event on TBS this week, an “MP3 Experiment” took place that lasted about 30 minutes. Participants were told to download a song via their respective mp3 players. Utilizing one DVC Pro HD and a couple of flip cams, various shooters captured this hilarious footage.

Suzie Moore edited the footage together and Megan Guerrant produced. They wrapped at about 11:30 lastnight and it’s live today! Talk about a quick turn around. I think my favorite part has to be when this “mysterious voice” actually got a mob of people to use their finger’s as moustaches! Brilliant!

How’s the Weather?

Though it’s been unusually cool in Chicago these days, our L.A. office has been heating up. Check out this latest project we worked on with the folks from High Wide and Handsome.  Working with Production Company Chromatic Films and director James Tooley, we put together these spoof Weather forecast spots for “Rift”, a new video game by Trion.  These are the web spots but they also finished for Broadcast and are airing on SyFy, FX, and G4!

Anna Patel edited all the spots while Jamin Clutcher handled the graphics.  Color by Tom Rovak, audio mix by Ryan Pribyl, and produced by Stacy Paris; as always, a true team effort from our brilliant staff.

Stumpfified

We are pleased to welcome Editor Christina Stumpf to the Foundation family! Christina brings her intuition and passion for storytelling to the team, after a ten year run at the Whitehouse. Drawn to diverse material, she’s cut campaigns across genres for such brands as Miller, Orbitz, Cadillac, Sears, and Office Max, for whose web video “Jewelry” was shortlisted at Cannes.

Stumpf’s long form credits include,”Hidden in Plain Sight”, a documentary in collaboration with UN Goodwill Ambassador Julia Ormond; “Hidden in Plain Sight”, with the support of former President Clinton, has helped raise over $1 million to promote awareness and help eradicate human trafficking worldwide.

President Samantha Hart adds, “We are thrilled that Christina has joined us and are looking forward to her playing both a creative and leadership role at our company.” Welcome Christina, we all look forward to working with you!

Hey, Hey We’re the Arctic Monkeys…

Hot off the presses…literally! Focus Creeps have a new video for indie band, Arctic Monkeys.  The song is “Brick by Brick” and it kills.

Edited by our own Gladys Bernadac, colored by Tom Rovak and mixed by Ryan Pribyl, this video was a true team effort. We’d also like to give a little shout out to Bernie Grundeman, who is featured in the video. Foundation owner, Samantha Hart, remembers the legendary mastering guru from back in the glory days of Geffen Records.   Some things really do never change.  Rock on!

The Taos of Del Gatto

Los Angeles based director and photographer Ron Hamad’s film “The Wait” is a finalist in the Taos Film Festival. Editor, Jonathan Del Gatto executed the edit on this film, and we are very proud to be a part of the excitement.

If you haven’t seen it already, it can be viewed here.   “The Wait” is arrestingly beautiful and really showcases Hamad’s cinematic talents.   Jonathan’s edit  perfectly enhances the footage and helps tell the story.

Higher and Higher

Anna Patel edited a few pieces for Nike in honor of Black History Month, featuring Kobe Bryant, and they were just released on Dime Magazine’s website.

Take a look!

The videos are part of a series called “Ever Higher”. The series features sports titans Julius Erving, Michael Jordan and a handful of sports and cultural influencers including Freddie Gibbs, and Mick Boogie. Anna did a great job on the cut and our own Jesse Willis assisted with graphics on this project.

You Spin Me Round

Aaron Brown, of Focus Creeps, has another hot video in circulation!  This one is for singer/songwriter Lia Ices. The video is for the song”Daphne”, off of her second album “Grown Unknown” and features a duet with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon.

Spin recently posted the video which can be viewed by clicking the picture below:

The video is beautifully shot and Ices’ voice is like a fresh pearl plucked from the depths of the dark sea.   Ices describes the video as going from a “supernatural world” to a “Fellini-esque nighttime revelry”. I ask you, what better revelry is there? Enjoy the video and pass it on!
