Patel’s Got Game

Foundation’s Anna Patel directed and edited a series of web docs to support the launch of Current TV’s 4TH AND FOREVER which premieres Thursday, May 26th at 9/8c.

The series follows the storied Long Beach Polytechnic High School football team as they tackle the 2010 season.  Poly has graduated more NFL players than any other high school in America.  We sat down with a few alumni to learn what makes this such a successful football program.  The first clip features Marcedes Lewis (Poly ’02) of the Jacksonville Jaguars and premiered on ESPN.com.

How’s the Weather?

Though it’s been unusually cool in Chicago these days, our L.A. office has been heating up. Check out this latest project we worked on with the folks from High Wide and Handsome.  Working with Production Company Chromatic Films and director James Tooley, we put together these spoof Weather forecast spots for “Rift”, a new video game by Trion.  These are the web spots but they also finished for Broadcast and are airing on SyFy, FX, and G4!

Anna Patel edited all the spots while Jamin Clutcher handled the graphics.  Color by Tom Rovak, audio mix by Ryan Pribyl, and produced by Stacy Paris; as always, a true team effort from our brilliant staff.

We Confess… We Love KD Lang!

Sultry singer/songwriter, KD Lang has a sexy new track called “I, Confess”, off her new album Sing It Loud, which debuts in April.

Focus Creeps recently directed the video, which was edited by Anna Patel. It premiered today on PerezHilton.com and is already an instant hit! Click the pic to check it out!

The track is beyond hot and Ms. Lang’s voice has never sounded more rich. I know I’m probably biased because it’s our video, but seriously… I would give this video four thumbs up if I had another set of hands!

Foundation LA : Action

Here is a quick snap from the LA studio!

Director, Anna Patel on set with DP Hilton Goring.

Higher and Higher

Anna Patel edited a few pieces for Nike in honor of Black History Month, featuring Kobe Bryant, and they were just released on Dime Magazine’s website.

Take a look!

The videos are part of a series called “Ever Higher”. The series features sports titans Julius Erving, Michael Jordan and a handful of sports and cultural influencers including Freddie Gibbs, and Mick Boogie. Anna did a great job on the cut and our own Jesse Willis assisted with graphics on this project.

“Burning Ice” Ignites and Inspires

Anna Patel recently edited a trailer for new eco-revolutionary film “Burning Ice“, which documents 40 musicians, writers and artists as they embark on a 9 day journey off the coast of Greenland with the artist -led climate change project, Cape Farewell.

The film was directed by legendary director Peter Gilbert. If the end music track on this trailer sounds familiar, it’s because it’s an acoustic rendering of KT Tunstall’s new hit which dropped yesterday, “Uummannaq Song“.

The trailer is absolutely visually stunning and features music by the artists involved directly with the film. It is not to be missed if you are an eco-adventurer, nature lover or simply a concerned citizen of the world that wants it to be around long after you’re gone. Well done, Anna!

It’s Official…

Our Los Angeles office is officially recognized by the BBB!

Babes In Toyland

Our L.A. team has been working on a project with Dentsu for the Bandai toy company. Bandai has two new toys coming out, that we are creating promotional sizzle pieces for.

Jonathan DelGatto’s edit bay was transformed into a green screen studio for the shoot! We’ll be posting the pieces when they are done… and though i cannot say too much more about the toys themselves… I will say that I totally want one!

Foundation L.A. EXPANDS!!

As most of you know, we opened an L.A. office last year in Santa Monica. Well, we officially signed the lease for our brand new space just this week!!

Our new address?

3583 HAYDEN AVE on the Hayden Tract in Culver City!

Just over 6,000 square feet, the space will have a 30ft x 30ft shooting stage as well as editorial bays and production areas including a mezzanine floor.

In true California style, the space makes use of three garage door roll-ups that spill out onto the expansive patio adorned by an architectural cactus garden suspended above.

Our L.A. studio currently houses award winning editor Jonathan Del Gatto, partner/co-founder James Lipetzky and up and comer Anna Patel.  In addition, music video lensers Focus Creeps, will also be on the roster in Los Angeles.  Stacy Paris produces.

While Foundation’s Los Angeles office is currently housed in Santa Monica digs, the new space should be ready by early December.

Lights, Camera, Help!

Our short  in support of same sex marriage, “Marriage Equality” was selected out of 235 entries from all across the world to show in the 2010 Lights, Camera, Help Film Festival in Austin, Texas!! Tom Pastorelle edited this piece and it was shot by Ben Chappell. But virtually everyone at Foundation touched this film in some way and we’re all very proud to see it accepted to this festival! The piece was originally created for F.A.I.R. in support of abolishing Prop 8.

Early this year it was selected as one of three finalists by the E-Hero Awards selection committee for the 2010 Human Rights Campaign Gala in Los Angeles. The Gala featured U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, as well as actresses Portia DeRossi and Kathy Griffin, who received the Ally for Equality Award.

The festival takes place July 29th – 31st and Foundation L.A.’s Stacy Paris and Anna Patel will be attending the event on our behalf to conduct the Q&A after it screens.

We are proud to have been given the opportunity to contribute to the cause and thrilled that our piece has been selected for this prestigious event!
