Foundation L.A. recently hosted a roundtable discussion for an audience of students and alumni from Inner-City Filmmakers, a nonprofit dedicated to training and employing disenfranchised high school grads. The panel – including DPs, editors, directors, Poolhouse producers, and our own James Lipetzky – covered everything from story development to hands-on practicalities of production.
It was a wonderful evening, everyone stayed late to share advice for the kids’ future collaboration with Nylon Studios, Kodak Film, and EKA Reps on the upcoming Pocket Fest film festival.

Special thanks to all the fantastic panelists who made the night possible: Jessica Cooper Carlson, Mary Ellen Duggan, Will Hartman, Barry Norwood, Robert Parker, Lyra Rider, Vicki Mayer, and James Lipetzky.

Ben Poster edited this Pill documentary, which is the one that Fader launched with. Check out Ben’s edit below and catch the series of vids at Fader.
Foundation Gears Up for Guerrant

Megan Guerrant has joined the Team at Foundation Content in Chicago as a producer, and we are thrilled to have her!
Prior to honing her skills in the technical world of color and finishing at Filmworkers, she spent six years at DraftFCB as a production business manager. The fact that she also has experience in the world of event production from a nearly four year position at event production company Williams/Gerard Productions is a bonus as Foundation continues to expand the scope of their creative business model into new and exciting arenas.
Joining Foundation also brings her back to the beginning of her career where she spent time working on independent films with Christopher Coppola and music videos at Black Dog Films/RSA. Guerrant says, ” I am excited about getting involved creatively in the projects I work on. There is a lot of opportunity at Foundation for me to explore my creative side as well as my strategic/business side.”
Foundation President, Samantha Hart says, “Our EP, Tracy Heropkie and I have known and admired Megan for quite some time. Now that our Los Angeles office has taken off, we found a need to have another producer on hand to cover the influx of work coming into Chicago for our graphics, color, smoke and finishing departments as well as editorial. It’s exciting to see our LA clients clamoring to get a color session with Tom Rovak or to work with our talented designers. Having run this company for the past six years, it is refreshing to see that work coming into this marketplace.”
Executive Producer, Tracy Heropkie adds, “With the recent addition of editor Christina Stumpf, we are looking to add one additional editor and then we think the Chicago office will be positioned right where we want it to be.”
Welcome to the team, Megan!
