Aaron Brown WOWs L.A.

Check out WOW Magazine‘s spread on Aaron Brown in their Summer 2011 issue.  Copies of the issue are available online.

The 12 page article features Aaron’s photography and thoughts on the artistic and cultural underbelly of Los Angeles.  “A lot of all kinds of weird, scary, hysterical things happen in LA at every instant,” Aaron says in the interview, “As a result there’s all kinds of different work happening.”

It’s an interesting article, well worth the read, and Aaron’s photographs look great. Definitely “wow” provoking!

The Taos of Del Gatto

Los Angeles based director and photographer Ron Hamad’s film “The Wait” is a finalist in the Taos Film Festival. Editor, Jonathan Del Gatto executed the edit on this film, and we are very proud to be a part of the excitement.

If you haven’t seen it already, it can be viewed here.   “The Wait” is arrestingly beautiful and really showcases Hamad’s cinematic talents.   Jonathan’s edit  perfectly enhances the footage and helps tell the story.

Behind the Scenes with AGGA B

This is a behind the scenes look at Foundation’s Matt Egan in action. Matt has shot several projects for fashion designer AGGA B recently and the footage from this particular shoot was for her Summer 2010 Collection. Click the picture below to view the footage.

Matt says of the experience, “Working with Agga or high end fashion in general is always an exciting and creative opportunity.  Fashion pieces always call for dynamic, progressive concepts, with pristine captivating imagery. The editing and sound all have to be flawless and dovetail with the concept to complete that compelling feel . The final piece must project a hypnotic energy,  a world that every viewer wants to dive into and make it their own. ”

What I love about this footage is the sophisticated glamour of it. The colors are great and having seen Matt in action, I can honestly say that he is the king of versatility. He can shoot everything from gritty rodeo shows to sequin encrusted models! And what a team we have! It’s easy to forget sometimes when we see these people every day, on every shoot- it’s easy to overlook just how awesomely talented each one of them is!  Good work, team!

Btw, as a side note,  we heart Herbie Hancock!

A Nephilim Grieves Its Way to Another Film Fest!

You may remember a while back when Anna Patel directed an intriguing short based on the poem “A Nephilim Grieves” by Vignette-Noelle Lammott. It was shown during the homegrown shorts segment of the Chicago International Film Festival last year. Well, the film has been accepted to yet another fest! This time, the First Annual Advertising Community Shorts Night, which is presented by The Midwest Independent Film Festival and AICP Midwest!

We are all very excited to see the film get more exposure and hope you’ll all come out to support our girls and other filmmakers of the Midwest!

Come check it all out at Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark, on Tuesday, October 6th!! Doors open at 6 pm with a pre-show cocktail reception, film program begins at 7:30 pm sharp and is followed by their ever-popular after-party.  For full details:  www.midwestfilm.org! See you there!

Music Provided by Girls

Could they be considered the soundtrack of today’s generation?

The band Girls, who we’ve done a few music videos for now, are popping up all over the music scene lately and are being featured on Urban Outfitter’s main website! Their new track “Lust for Life” can be seen on this month’s AV Club page or below!

The video was shot and directed by Aaron Brown and Ben Chappell and really captures what’s at the heart of today’s youth in San Fransisco, which has always been a town to provide an excellent backdrop for political as well as artistic movements.
