Shoup-Shoop-A-Doop

Foundation’s Associate Creative Director, Kyle Shoup visited the L.A. office recently, from Chicago. Shoup, Producer, Evan Cohen, and Owner, Samantha Hart went to MOCA to attend Aaron Roses’ lecture about his curating Art in the Streets, an exhibit of street art which included works by our artist in residence, Nick Egan.

A great time was enjoyed by all and we strongly encourage anyone in the L.A. area to check out the exhibit for themselves. http://www.moca.org/

Taking it to the Streets

Foundation director, Nick Egan recently had his seminalĀ  record cover work featured in a show at MOCA/ The Geffen Contemporary. The category under which his work was represented was called Art in the Streets. This show featured graffiti art and street performance art.

Art in the Streets is the first major U.S. museum survey of graffiti and street art. Curated by MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch and Associate Curators Roger Gastman and Aaron Rose, the exhibition will trace the development of graffiti and street art from the 1970s to the global movement it has become today, concentrating on key cities such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and Sao Paulo, where a unique visual language or attitude has evolved.

If you’re in LA this Summer, be sure to catch the exhibit, which will run from April to August.
